Who is this Switzerland 10 day itinerary for?

This itinerary is for those who haven’t visited Switzerland before and want to see all the main highlights that it has to offer – think snow covered landscapes, tobogganing or snowshoeing in the Alps, cosy cities, (perhaps even with a Christmas Market or two!), and or course hearty warming gluhwein and fondue at every turn!

When is winter in Switzerland?

Winter in Switzerland is from November through to February, but if you are after visiting the country for the snow, this can happen as early as October and last through to April.

What is the weather like in Switzerland in the winter?

The weather in winter can be anything from pleasant with brilliant sunshine to cold with freezing winds and snow hammering down, it can honestly change a lot from day to day! But that shouldn’t put you off planning a trip to Switzerland in the winter, even with the colder days it is a winter wonderland and the most incredible country to visit.

Is it worth going to Switzerland in winter?

100% yes! Winter is one of the nicest times of the year to experience Switzerland, especially for a first time trip, as there are plenty of activities to do, the cities are alive with winter festivals and who doesn’t enjoy a dusting of snow!
