What Is The Jungfrau Travel Pass & Is It Worth It?
A Jungfrau Travel Pass is a ticket that allows you to get unlimited travel on trains, boats, buses cable cars and mountain railways throughout the Jungfrau region. You don’t need to buy any additional tickets whilst having the Jungfrau Travel Pass, other than for a trip to Jungfraujoch, (which isn’t covered under any Switzerland transport pass).
Lasting from 3 days up to 8 days, this pass is a great option for anyone spending time in the Jungfrau region, and it is really convenient with a digital QR Code on your phone, so no more standing in line waiting to buy multiple tickets.
You can buy this pass online at any point before your trip as the price doesn’t increase nearer to the date of use, but be sure to have the correct dates for your pass as the pass in non refundable. You can also buy this pass to have on top of an existing Swiss Travel Pass or Half Fare Card, which helps to reduce the price down further, more on this below.
What Is Included In The Jungfrau Travel Pass
Unlimited travel by train, mountain railways and cable cars, buses and boats, as well as a discounted journey to Jungfraujoch. Fully covered mountain trips include:
📍 Grindelwald First
📍 Harder Kulm
📍 Kleine Scheidegg

What Is Not Included In The Jungfrau Travel Pass
Although the Jungfrau Travel Pass covers the vast majority of public transport within the region, there are still a few mountain excursion that are not included or are discounted. These include Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn / Piz Gloria.
A ticket for the whole excursion to Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe, is not included in the Jungfrau Travel Pass, you can however get a special connecting ticket, which is at a highly reduced price in comparison to not having the pass.
There is no discount for a trip up Schilthorn / Piz Gloria, so this will have to be paid in full.

Jungfrau Travel Pass or Berner Oberland Pass
Both the Jungfrau Travel Pass and the Berner Oberland Pass cover the area of the Jungfrau region, however the Berner Oberland Pass also covers the areas between the Jungfrau region and Bern, Lucerne, Montreux and Domodossola. It is a little more expensive due to this, and we go into exactly what extra benefits you can get with this pass in our Berner Oberland Pass blog post, but if you plan on visiting the Jungfrau region and other locations in the country, that the Berner Oberland Pass covers, then that might be the better option for you.
You can buy the Berner Oberland Pass here.
Jungfrau Travel Pass or Swiss Travel Pass
Whilst the Jungfrau Travel Pass covers only the Jungfrau region and up to a maximum of 8 days, the Swiss Travel Pass covers the whole of Switzerland and be can used for up to 15 days. It is a great option if you are planning on spending a few weeks in Switzerland and on visiting a few different locations / regions in that time too. That being said, the Swiss Travel Pass is a little more expensive that the Jungfrau Travel Pass if you only buy it for a short amount of time and it doesn’t always give you the best deals on regional mountain excursions in comparison to buying a region travel pass instead.
You can find out more information about this in our Swiss Travel Pass Guide.
You can buy the regular Swiss Travel Pass here and the Swiss Travel Pass Flex here.
