Berner Oberland Pass or Jungfrau Travel Pass
Although both of these passes are very similar to one another, both covering the Jungfrau region and having similar mountain excursions included, the Berner Oberland Pass also covers the areas between the Jungfrau region and Bern, Lucerne, Montreux and Domodossola, making it much better to be able to travel to other locations in Switzerland and still be covered by the pass. It does make it a little more expensive than the Jungfrau Travel Pass though.
That being said, if you only plan on visiting the Jungfrau region and aren’t bothered with being able to get to other destinations, (other than Lucerne which is covered with both), then the Jungfrau Travel Pass could be a better option for you. We go into exactly what extra benefits you can get with this pass in our Jungfrau Travel Pass blog post.
You can also buy the Jungfrau Travel Pass here.
Berner Oberland Pass or Swiss Travel Pass
Whilst the Berner Oberland Pass covers public transport within the Bernese Oberland and Jungfrau region for up to 10 days, the Swiss Travel Pass is a multi-day pass, that can be used from 3 to 15 days and across the whole of Switzerland. This makes the Swiss Travel Pass a great option if you are planning on spending a few days / weeks exploring various locations across Switzerland and don’t want the hassle of getting a new pass each day, but it can be a little more expensive and it doesn’t always include mountain excursions.
You can find out more detail about this in our Swiss Travel Pass Guide.
Overall if you are planning on spending most of your time in the Bernese Alps or Jungfrau Region then the Berner Oberland Pass will be most cost effective, but if you want to visit other locations as well, then the Swiss Travel Pass may be better.
You can buy the regular Swiss Travel Pass here and the Swiss Travel Pass Flex here.
